Figures as reported by the issuer in the filing shown on hover. Each year’s pill shows the assurance level of its filed statements — audited, reviewed (CPA review, less than an audit), or unaudited, as the filing’s own report or certification states it. A dashed pill marked * is inferred instead: the SEC minimum for an offering that size, which the issuer may have exceeded. No pill means we couldn’t tell. Headcount is the filing’s point-in-time count, not a year-end average. Manually corrected figures are marked “Corrected”.

Danny MenaFounder
Managing Director

Danny Mena is a Mexican-born, New York City-educated alum of fine dining restaurants like Blue Hill and The Modern. He is the proprietor of a Mexican luncheonette in Bushwick, Brooklyn called La Loncheria, as well as a co-owner of Mezcal de Leyendas’ family of brands. Mena’s pathway to the culinary world came via several detours. By the time he was studying engineering at Virginia Tech, Mena was hosting dinner parties for friends, delighting in exposing them to real Mexican dishes that reflected the essence of his native country’s culture. Not cut out for the corporate politics associated with his first job, he moved to New York enrolled at the International Culinary Center (formerly FCI) Before graduating, he interned at Blue Hill NYC before taking on his first professional culinary job at The Modern. Mena left and opened a small collaboration in an unutilized space in DUMBO. Their collaboration opened as Hecho en Dumbo and eventually moved to the Bowery serving traditional Mexican food that Mena had become so fond of. Hecho en Dumbo closed in 2018, 11 years after its inception. In 2009 Mena begin distributing Mezcal de Leyendas in the United States. Since then, Mena has melded his focus on his original passion of cooking and with his new passion of mezcal. Over the past 12 years the brand has become one of the brands of the world, growing in double digits year on year. Spreading from NYC, Mezcales de Leyenda is now in the vast majority of states in the United States, as well as Canada, the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, Singapore and, of course, maintains a major footprint in Mexico. Mena has continued to use his engineering skills, working on the production side of business, with its continuous growth, as well as learning on brand building and marketing side of business, as well as working with distributors and retailers. In 2019 he published his first cookbook called, Made in Mexico: Classic and Contemporary Recipes from Mexico City published by Rizzoli. More than just a cookbook, it’s also a culinary guide to one of the gastronomic centers of the world.

About this data. Figures are compiled from public sources — SEC EDGAR filings (Form C, C-AR, 1-A, 1-K) and funding-platform pages — and may be delayed, incomplete, or restated by the issuer. Financial statements are as reported by the issuer; each year is labeled with its assurance level (audited / reviewed / unaudited). A valuation cap is the conversion ceiling of a SAFE or convertible note, not an agreed company valuation; post-money figures are computed as pre-money plus amount raised and are not a traded price. Crowdonomics is not a broker-dealer, funding portal, or investment adviser; nothing here is investment advice or an offer to sell securities. Verify all figures against the linked EDGAR filings.
