Despite the rise of Zillow and online real estate platforms, the actual business model of the business remains in a percentage-based commission for agents. iBuyers tried to disrupt this model by acting as a market maker and ended up taking substantial losses. Homeshake takes on far less balance sheet risk here, while addressing a similar problem for the consumer.
